MarVista ArtWalk: Voices

The ArtWalk last week was a success. Erika Lane Enggren and I had our station set up for the community to collaborate with us in writing poetry. We made paste-it poems and set up a typewriter to create one long poem that the locals contributed to, line by line.

This “communo-collab-poem” shows the creativity of Mar Vista’s inhabitants, and the ability for us all to come together to share our voices and commonalities, whatever they might be. Read the full text of the community poem here and check out the rad photos my friend, Dan Wynick, took for us!

That night, I also read at two venues set up elsewhere with Philosopher’s Stone Poetry and the after party. It was awesome to hit the streets with my poetry, and to share it with so many talented artists and our community. Thank you all! ♥
