recall/adjust

I take shelter of living room
a shield from some days’ gloom
hand in loom, tea and toast
make the most of it
soft spoken historians
speaking of monoliths
ancient stories, the originals
the earliest days of man
before the Comanche
before the Anasazi
lost tribes never to be known
should still be dancing as stars
shooting left and right
more or less keeping form
as I try to also keep form
the couch sinks in deep
only in certain spots
I adapt.

  1. My favorite lines by you:

    speaking of monoliths
    ancient stories, the originals
    the earliest days of man

Going back and making us the reader realize how important the original stories we’re back in the days of man. Brilliant and you’ve captured this poem so wonderful and good writing. 🙂
