Time Traveler for A Day

The house was flashback: 1969
wonderful clutter faithfully kept

neurosis reigns, affectionate servant plays
keeping alive something that once was

Elvis is the man of the house
I will not be allowed to forget

Jesus is ever-present of course
serving merely as a secondary saint

the pelvis-jiving king to whom she sings
lip turned crinkled up watching over

ancient Disney cartoons tap dance
on the kitchen’s pink walls and ceiling

Déjà vu melts over like I know this already
false reality depends on the dimension entered

traveling to this place endlessly
she is only what I feel after visiting

eternal conversations with E. and J.
otherwise dead or fantasy

  1. My favorite lines of yours:

the pelvis-jiving king to whom she sings
lip turned crinkled up watching over

    ancient Disney cartoons tap dance
on the kitchen’s pink walls and ceiling

You are on fire! greatly and wonderfully structure poem. Love the imagery you possesses. 🙂
